We all oversleep sometimes-whether it’s by accident or not-and run out the door skipping the most important meal of the day simply because we “have no time”. Now, there are no excuses. Here are five breakfast ideas which are easy, healthy, and quick (literally 10 minutes or less).
Fruit Smoothies
Fruit smoothies are a great idea for rushed mornings. All you need to do is chuck a couple of your favourite fruits into a blender, add in some ice or milk, blend it, and voila! If you’re really in a bind and need to get moving, blend the smoothie and then pack it away in a portable mug so that you can drink it on the way to school. Here are some of our favourite combinations:

Mixed berries & banana smoothie:
Zapped Scrambled Eggs
These are perfect for when you’re hungry and in a rush but still want a nutritious and delicious breakfast. Instead of taking up too much time cooking scrambled eggs on the stove, you can make them in the microwave -they turn out just as good! Simply beat two eggs in a bowl, add a splash of milk, a sprinkle of salt and pepper, and a small handful of cheese. Afterwards, throw it in the microwave for one minute and take it out every 30 seconds to stir.
Fruit Parfait
Fruit parfaits are one of the easiest, tastiest, and healthiest quick breakfasts on the block. All you need to do is throw in some oats, your favourite yogurt, and your favourite fruits in layers and you have yourself a delicious and healthy breakfast.
Banana Nice-Cream
Ice cream for breakfast? Yes please! The nice-cream phase is becoming very popular all over the world because of its taste and nutritional benefits. Who wouldn’t want to eat ice-cream that tastes just as good, but doesn’t leave you feeling guilty afterwards? All you need for this nice-cream is 2 frozen bananas, 1 cup of skim milk and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Puree until smooth and creamy and you have yourself a bowl of delicious and healthy ice cream!
Peanut Butter Banana Toast
Who said you have to limit your toast to just jam and butter? This one is perfect for when you still want a nutritious and filling breakfast before heading off to school. Simply toast 2 slices of wholemeal bread, spread peanut butter on top, cut up 1 whole banana into slices and lay them on the toast. For an extra yummy taste, drizzle honey on top!
