Although there are tons of beauty products out there, exposure to certain chemicals may do more damage than good. Let’s be real, how many times does a product actually do what it claims to? Quality products that take pride in effectiveness also tend to leave behind an empty wallet. I prefer to indulge myself in nature’s finest ingredients to create effective and cost efficient treatments.

Salt Water Toner
Having trouble getting rid of that pimple break-out? Too much shine on the face? This is something for you. Although I am no professional, I can say this because from experience it works a lot better compared to most products I've come across. Plus, it’s au naturale. Do take note however that this can dry out the skin when used too often; so, keep a balance – perhaps every other night will do the trick depending on your skin type.
Ingredients:
·         3 table spoons of sea salt
·         1 cup of water
Boil the water and add the salt until the salt is completely dissolved. Cool the mixture and transfer to a convenient bottle.

Honey Hair Lightening Mask
Bleach is a highly damaging hair treatment which strips hair of its pigment, leaving it coarse and dry. Quite often, I considered undergoing the bleach treatment until I read about the after effects. Thankfully, I came across this recipe. It will take a few times for the hair to show obvious effects depending on your current hair color but don’t be discouraged as honey is a great conditioner.  I would recommend doing this every week for 5 weeks depending on your hair color.
What you'll need:
·         2 table spoons raw honey
·         4 tea spoons water
·         4 tea spoons olive oil
·         Air tight jar
·         Shower cap and hair tie
·         Towel
Procedure:
1.      Start by mixing the honey and water together in the air tight jar until the mixture has reached an even and easy-to-work-with consistency.
2.      Add the olive oil, stir briefly and secure the lid.
3.      Let this sit for 15-20 minutes only.
4.      Open the jar and evenly apply on the hair and secure with a shower cap. Depending on the length of your hair, you may want to tie it before wearing the shower cap.
5.      Lastly, either wrap a towel on your head or get some sunlight. Heat is essential for the mixture to activate! The longer the mask the lighter the results will be.

Baking Soda Scrub
The baking soda scrub is a gradual black head remover which also does a great job at exfoliating the skin.  The process is quite simple. Mix baking soda and sugar with water and a few drops of lemon juice until you get a thin, paste-like consistency. Gently rub this on your clean face for three to five minutes. Then rinse off. Be mindful of how you rub this onto your skin, too rough may leave it damaged!

Almond Under-Eye Brightener
It’s that time of the year again, stress is building up and the zombie apocalypse is approaching! Fear not, we can fake a little radiance on our faces with the help of almond oil. Simply apply a few drops under the eyes before bed every night and it should get rid of the dark circles leaving your face looking fresh and alive!
