As promised in last week’s article, here’s a round-up of the post-speech section of the Hustings process. To add a bit of a comic flair to the election process, candidates were asked one by one a series of quirky questions. We can’t decide what we found more entertaining, the questions posed, or the candidates’ answers!

Questions posed to all Head Student Candidates:

What is the one song that explains your life?
Miguel Ayala selected Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’. He believes that although there is much to struggle for in life, he will never give up on his dreams.
Aileen Chong- Go the Distance by Michael Bolton
Miguel Vera- Take Care by Drake ft. Rihanna
Josh Whyte- Pride by U2
Nathalie Limandibratha picked Miley Cyrus’ The Climb because the song advocates the belief that one should keep trying even when times are tough.
Alex Tan interestingly picked David Guetta’s Play Hard because she believes that it is crucial to strike a balance between work and play.
Peter Bateson chose Eminem’s Lose Yourself because he believes that it is important to take the opportunities that are given to you.
Sophia Perrett- We Can’t Stop by Miley Cyrus. And we thought that was Alex’s favourite!
Bryan Fong opted for Switchfoot’s I Dare You to Move because he believes that although we face adversity and challenges, life moves on.

What is your best pick up line?
“Were you at Hiroshima? You’re simply glowing.” – Bryan Fong
“Let me tie your shoelace because I don’t want you to fall for anyone else.” – Sophia Perrett
“Hey, I’m Peter. What’s your number?” – Peter Bateson
“Are you from Tennessee? Because you’re the only ten I see.” – Alex Tan
“Are you missing your teddy bear? Because I’ll join you at night” – Nathalie Limandibratha
“I’ll be Osama. You’ll be the cave. I’ll hide in you” – Joshua Whyte
“Are you a charity? Because I feel like giving back to you tonight” –Miguel Vera
“Hey. ” – Miguel Ayala

Faced with nine strong candidates, it can be said that the BSM community faced the truly difficult task of selecting two who they believed would make the best Head Students.
